The Skoda Yeti is not the docile car that it appears to be. The 1.8l TSI Volkswagen engine is equipped on a large number of models of the Volkswagen group and it is able to give unexpected performance. This Alientech training will give you all the technical information you’ll need about the vehicle and control unit to get ready for the tuning procedure. After that, by following a wizard through the ECM Titanium software, you will be shown how to improve the 1.8l TSI’s performance while preserving the vehicle’s reliability.
With Alientech tuning procedures, you won’t need to understand the principles on which the tuning of the different maps is based, nor spend time creating a brand new tuning procedure on your own. You just have to buy the practice that deals with the vehicle you have in your workshop and start working on it to reach surprising and guaranteed results.
Were you given a vehicle equipped with a Volkswagen 1.8l TSI engine and a Bosch MED17.5 control unit, but you are not sure how to tune it so that the performance will improve? In 30 minutes, our example focused on a Volkswagen 1.8l TSI with a Bosch MED17.5 control unit will teach you all you need to know to perform an effective tuning on vehicles equipped with this combination.

First, these tuning practices offer a set of specific information about the vehicle, the engine, the control unit and the original file: this data, which is otherwise hard to find on your own, was carefully selected by our Alientech technicians. Then, after applying Alientech tuning method to the vehicle in question, you will be shown how to change the maps of the original file in order to get a tuned file that improves the Skoda Yeti’s performance and guarantees its reliability. This is possible thanks to numerous tests performed both on-bench and with diagnostic tools: the results can be found in the third section of the training.
This practice is useful either for slave tuners or beginners who don’t have enough experience to create a tuned file on their own, and for more experienced tuners, who will be able to compare their knowledge with our procedure.
By successfully and affordably tuning a greater number of cars in your own workshop, you will widen your range of customers and, therefore, improve profits.
One lesson of about 25 minutes, composed by 3 sections:
- vehicle, engine, control unit, connections and original file description
- tuning procedure
- diagnostics and results
First section:
in this part of the course we will describe the characteristics of the vehicle by listing version, equipment, year of production, traction and type of gearbox.
Then, we indicate all the vehicles – even of different car manufacturers – equipped with the same engine or similar version; immediately after, the specifications of the engine control unit will be specified in detail: that is the identification data and the versions for the emission classes.
In addition, we talk about the types of connection with Alientech tools – which are useful for the remapping – by indicating the protocols of use, the available functions and giving some practical advice for editing operations. Finally, the structure of the original file is presented by indicating the addresses and the various areas.
Second section:
this part directly addresses the remapping practice. After a brief introduction, we present the summary list of the maps that will be modified, the Alientech modification method and its specific application to the vehicle in question. Following the wizard of this online course, you will be able to create a mapping that will ensure high performance and guaranteed reliability.
Third section:
this last part is dedicated to the discovery of the potentialities of this remapping practice: the new increases, compared to the original settings of the vehicle in a precise and detailed chart, clarify efficaciously how this remapping practice is effective and surprising.
